Improper diaper changing observed in the infant`s classroom (Turtles). Following spraying the disinfectant, the caregiver documented diaper changing on the dry erase board (Step #20 in corporate procedure) and handled the iPad in the food preparation area. The hands were then washed (step #18 in corporate procedure) in the general handwashing sink. Proper diaper changing procedures include gathering supplies, donning disposable gloves (if needed), using a disposable towelette or moistened paper towel to clean the child, wiping front to back; disposing of gloves if used, soiled towelettes and diaper in a plastic-lined, covered receptacle; wiping hands with disposable towelette or moistened paper towel; sliding a clean diaper under the child, applying diapering products (if needed), fastening the diaper and placing clothing on child; washing the child`s hands, returning the child to a supervised area, spraying the entire diapering surface with soapy solution and wiping clean, spraying with disinfectant and allowing to sit for the contact time according to manufacturer instructions, and lastly, the caregiver washing the hands using the handwashing sink in the diaper changing area. Step #17 of the corporate procedure was followed but ensure steps #18-20 are followed in order, and that handwashing occurs at the diaper changing handwashing sink.

*Note on Vegan cheese: Vegan cheese can go bad if it's not refrigerated properly. While plant-based alternatives may lack some of the dairy components that make traditional cheese prone to rapid spoilage, they are not exempt from the effects of temperature and exposure. The risk of bacterial growth and contamination increases, potentially causing the cheese to spoil and become unsafe to consume. Store at 45 F or below, like all other potentially hazardous foods.
