General Comments
Aerosol spray cans were left in accessible areas to students in classrooms #1205 and #1311. A container of Clorox Bleach was left in an area accessible to students in classroom #1205. Aerosol spray cans and Bleach should not be left in classroom areas where students can access these products. These items should be stored in closed or locked cabinets or closets only accessible to staff. Please correct. Custodial closet #1404 was left open at time of inspection. Custodial closets must be kept closed and locked when staff are not present especially when children are present in the building. Class supplies, chairs, and toys were stored on the floor of the pre-k classroom bathroom #1201A. Only items related to bathroom use or diapering should be stored in class bathrooms. Bathrooms are not clean storage locations. Classroom items and toys stored in classroom bathrooms can become a means of communicable disease transfer for pathogens including norovirus/stomach flu. The storage of class supplies in class bathrooms is also an impediment to the cleaning and repair of these facilities. Please remove. Sewer gas odor is present in the special needs class bathroom #1206A. Custodial staff should pour water down the floor drain regularly in this bathroom to keep the drain pipe from drying out and to prevent an access point for sewer gas into the building. School facility sanitation inspection completed.
